Ultimately, Iowa (15-9, 7-6 Big Ten) just couldn't make up for a dismal start. Top-ranked Purdue (23-2, 12-2 Big Ten) was also simply too good on the glass and overall. The No. 1 Boilermakers outrebounded Iowa 43-23 and Purdue's Braden Smith knocked down 8-of-10 field goal attempts, including 4-of-5 3-pointers. The rebounding effort was spearheaded by Purdue star big man Zach Edey's 14 retrievals. Edey finished with 14 points, joining Fletcher Loyer's 17, Caleb Furst's 11 and Mason Gillis' 10 as the other Boilermakers in double-figure scoring.
